About Lucy Lou 🌷1 yo Jack Russell Terrier x (Trial)
Affectionate Lucy-Lou is a 1-year-old, female, Jack Russell Terrier cross. She is affectionate, loyal and 14kg of fun. She’s the active family member you’ve been looking for. Smart and loving she adores her humans. She will fit beautifully in with a family who have time to show her love and affection and continue her training and socialisation.
Lucy-Lou loves her walks and playing with her toys in her backyard of a . In the evening she’s happy to curl up with you to watch some TV, resting her head on your shoulder. She needs to be welcomed inside when her people are home and to sleep inside at night. She loves being around people, she greets guests with a wag and a smile.
Lucy-Lou didn’t have much experience of the world prior to being rescued so she can get excited when she sees new things. She loves her daily walks and is learning to not react to other dogs. Her foster carer has seen a big change in her reactivity since being in foster care. She will need continued training on lead and with recall. Our Dog Rescue Newcastle trainers are happy to give you a lesson.
She is a smart and young dog who is easy to train. She is able to sit for a treat and knows where the treat drawer is. She is affectionate and enjoys cuddles and belly rubs.
Lucy-Lou is not currently living with another dog, however she has been tested with dogs and has been ok. She will need an easy and gentle introduction to other dogs and would need to be tested with a potential fur sibling. Lucy-Lou is toilet trained and she sleeps all night without accidents. She sleeps in her own bed.
Her ideal family will:
- Be an active family or couple
- Continue her training
- Allow her inside with them
- Have high fences
- Include her in their daily lives
- Work from home or be home often.
Lucy-Lou just wants to be loved which she will return a hundred times over. She has been in a calm foster home where she has learnt to feel safe. She is very protective and loyal and loves to follow her humans.
She needs secure fencing to keep her safe. Unfortunately rural fencing (wire or mesh) is not suitable. Tulip would be happy being an only dog or having a fur sibling with a slow introduction. She has not been tested with cats and we wouldn’t recommend she live with with pocket pets. If there are children in the home we recommend that they be 8 and older.
Lucy-Lou is in foster care Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption within NSW, ACT and Victoria. Her adoption fee is $700. She is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
