About Custard
Boy is he ready for fun!
Custard came into care in a sad state. He had no confidence, no exposure and in a shut down state. He hit the jackpot and has been fostered by a trainer and is now flourishing!
He is a sweet and very active boy. He is energetic, loyal and is an adventure seeking pup. He loves walks, hikes, swimming, and he is learning to love and understand engagement in training.
He is still learning how to be comfortable in the world, busy areas, or new people. He cannot be approached by strangers but will warm up in a controlled situation if people ignore him. He is soft natured with a relatives 18 month old toddler, and still working out the energy of 5-12 year old children.
Custard is crate trained and sleeps the through the night. He walks well on leash and has great recall. He loves his doggy friends and finds a lot of confidence in them. We are looking for a home with another stable, playfu,l energetic dog to help guide Custard into the world.
He is still able to walk through busy areas, beaches, park off leash and will just follow and ignore/pay little attention to people. If on lead he is still fearful of people approaching him. The trainer will continue to work with the adopter to offer support for his development.
He is perfect left at home alone crated. He has a working brain, so focusing on teaching how to turn off is still a work in progress. He can do this at home, just needs to continue this in the real world.
We are looking for a home ready to keep working on his confidence. An active family, who understands patience is the only way to earn his trust. Someone that is clear with direction, an assertive leader, and who won’t ‘baby’ him will help support his growth. His new home will need to give him time to come out of his shell, but will keep working with him to grow and develop. He is not a city pup, we prefer he goes to a quieter area, residential or rural.
If you have the time, skills and energy to keep up with this boys development, the world will be his oyster with the right guidance.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
