On Hold
About Thomas - Located in Preston
Greetings, dear prospective companion. I am Thomas, a cat of substantial confidence and boundless affection. My demeanor is one of vigor and warmth, characterized by my fondness for head butting and rubbing myself all over my chosen humans. Indeed, I embody what one might call "big boy energy," moving through life with a zest and zeal that is both endearing and invigorating.
My days are filled with exuberant activities, chief among them being the spontaneous and spirited zoomies around the house. Wrestling with my imaginary foes and chasing after mice toys provide a sense of exhilaration that is unmatched. These pursuits are not merely for play; they are an expression of my lively spirit and uncontainable joy.
While I am content to bask in the undivided attention of my humans. More food and snuggles for me, you see. My favorite pastimes include following you about, ensuring that no step you take goes unwitnessed, and curling up on your lap, offering warmth and companionship in abundance.
So, dear heart, do you possess the space in your life, your heart, and your bed for a cat of my calibre? If so, I am ready to bestow upon you the full measure of my affectionate energy. Together, let us embark on a journey of shared joy and endless cuddles.
Yours affectionately,
Thomas

Medical notes
In 2022 Thomas had a reconstructive surgery on his penis, (Perineal
Urethrostomy) after his bladder became blocked twice in a short period of time. His previous owner has reported that he has had no urinary issues since. Thomas has recently had his teeth cleaned. And would benefit from a dental diet to help keep his teeth clean and healthy.
WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
