About Dorothy
Meet Dorothy, a gentle soul in the form of a beautiful four-and-a-half-year-old Dachshund, currently on the quest for her new family. Dorothy knows the world can be a big and fearsome place, so she prefers to approach it with caution. In the right hands, she is just waiting to bloom and show off her incredible nature.
Dorothy is somewhat timid and shy, yet her way of cautiously exploring the world can melt the coldest of hearts. She shares a harmonious relationship with dogs of her size, preferring the company of those who understand respecting boundaries. While Dorothy seems a tad uncertain around cats, with a patient and caring household, she would become acclimated in no time.
Dorothy walks well on the lead inside, but might need a bit of training, stability, and security to master the art of outdoor walks. She isn't rambunctious or overly excitable, making her ideally suited to a calm environment; a family who will encourage her expression subtly and enticingly.
Dorothy's ideal new family would understand the need for patience and time to help her unravel her full, gorgeous character. Her adjustment might take a bit of time, but her gentle disposition is worth the wait, a promise of a beautiful, heartwarming, and rewarding companionship.
If you believe you have the quiet environment, tender heart, and the patience to let Dorothy take the time to become her best self, then she might be the perfect addition to your household. Your patience and understanding will be rewarded tenfold with the loyal companionship of this sweet Dachshund. Give Dorothy the chance to fill your life with the reminder of life's softer, gentler side.
Medical notes
Dorothy had a dental scale and clean performed under GA. She passed her vet check
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
