About Pumbaa
Hey there, pals! I'm Pumbaa, the cutest little pup you ever did see! I may be just 5 months old, but I've got a heart as big as a mountain and enough love to fill up a whole house!
I'm on the lookout for my forever home, where I can play and snuggle with my new family. I'm an American Staffy cross, so you know I'm extra sweet and full of energy! But don't worry, I promise to be on my best behavior, especially if there's another confident dog around to show me the ropes. I love having furry friends to hang out with!
Now, let's talk about kids. I'm all about those kiddos who are 7 years and older and know how to treat a pup like me. I might be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I'll be your loyal sidekick for life!
Since I'm still a young pup, I'll need some training to help me grow into the best dog I can be. But hey, I'm a quick learner, and with and lots of treats, I'll be sitting, staying, and fetching like a pro in no time!
As I'm young, I have lots of energy! I would benefit from fun enrichment and exercise to keep me busy and out of trouble. But don't worry, I'll make sure to give you plenty of cuddles and kisses in return!
So, what do you say? Are you ready to bring home your new best friend? If you think we'd be a paw-fect match, reach out and let's make it official! I can't wait to meet my forever family and start our adventures together!
To book a meet and greet with Pumbaa please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
