About Chester
Introducing Chester!
This handsome young man is Chester, a domestic short hair born approx 21st March 2021.
Chester was brought in to us by rangers. He was in a cat trap & the finders informed them he was a feral cat. When we checked him over, he was clearly shut down & very scared but we could see the potential in him. After a few weeks of working with him several times a day he was making slow but steady progress. Our break through happened after he was desexed, when we put him in with a lonely female cat. The next day he was like a different cat and seemed so much more comfortable with his surroundings & with the attention from staff and volunteers. Chester is now an incredibly affectionate boy who snuggles into your hand for more love.
Chester can be shy when meeting new people, so he will need an owner who is willing to move slowly with him while he learns to trust you. With Chester's history of timidness, we are recommending a home with no young children as we feel they would be too overwhelming for him.
We believe that Chester would benefit from having another cat/s at home as his confidence is boosted by their presence & he simply adores them. Even if the other cats don't like him, he still tries to groom & snuggle with them.
Chester has not been tested with dogs at this time.
Chester will be rehomed to a family who will keep him as an inside cat only.
Chester is litter trained and would make a wonderful addition to most families.
If you think you could be that furever family for Chester, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
His adoption fee is $300 & this includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registrations. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Chester is currently located in East Maitland and he is looking forward to meeting you.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
