About Big Bird
Meow! My name is Big Bird, and let me tell you a little bit about myself. I may be a mother cat, but my kittens have all flown the nest and found their forever homes. Now it's my turn to find a loving family who will cherish me just as much as I cherished my babies.
I'm a Domestic Short Hair tabby with a heart of gold. Cuddles are my absolute favorite, and I'm not shy about showing my affection. Whether it's a gentle head bump or a purr-filled snuggle session, I'm always ready to shower my humans with love.
I'm also quite the social butterfly when it comes to other cats. I'm cat-friendly and enjoy the company of my feline companions. But what I really crave is the company of my humans. I want to be where the action is, soaking up all the love and attention I can get.
Now, when it comes to the little ones, I prefer kids over the age of 6. Don't get me wrong, I adore children, but I also appreciate having my space when I need it. So, as long as the kiddos can understand when I need a little me-time, we'll get along just fine.
So, if you're looking for a loving and affectionate feline companion who will brighten your days with purrs and cuddles, look no further. I'm here, waiting for the world's best home to welcome me with open arms. Let's make memories together!
To book a meet and greet with Big Bird please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
