About Mars - Located in Northcote
Hey, I'm Mars.
You might think I'm just about the cuteness, but there's more to me than that. I like to take things slow, especially around new faces. Gotta keep an eye out, you know? Trust isn't just given, it's earned. So when we meet, just remember—no fast moves. Let me take the lead and pass the sniff test.
When I feel comfortable, you'll find me exploring with curiosity, turning a simple slipper into an epic quest. I’ve got an imagination that could take us places. And don't get me started on toys—I'm all in for a good play session. But after the action, I enjoy finding a cozy high spot for some quiet time.
I like my independence. It keeps things chill. But don't mistake that for being a loner—I get along just fine with my siblings and other cats. We coexist in our own laid-back way.
If you're looking for a companion who's got layers beyond the soft fur, someone to appreciate for all they bring to the table, then you might just find that in me. Let's take it step by step and see how our stories unfold. Cool?

Medical notes
WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
