About Fatty Jacques (Fostered In Perth)
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Fatty Jacques
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance as an owner surrender. He’s settled well into foster care and is now ready to find a home of his own.
BREED: Koolie
BREED TRAITS: The Australian Koolie is believed to be the result of cross breeding the smooth-coated blue merle Collie with the black and tan Collie. Being a herding breed, they require frequent stimulation and exercise – they are hardworking and eager to please. Koolies are friendly, easy-going, fun-loving and rarely aggressive. They are very trainable and obedient by nature, they also make good watchdogs. Without good exercise they can become destructive, they also can become quite anxious if left alone for long periods.
****************************************************************************
ASSETS: He’s easy going, affectionate, devoted, eager to please, friendly and active!
FAVOURITE THINGS: Fatty Jacques loves to get out for walks and runs, especially at the beach. He enjoys playing with other friendly dogs and chasing a ball or toy. He especially loves to play with toys which have treats hidden inside. He’s also laps up all the cuddles he can get!
ENDEARING FEATURES: Fatty Jacques is affectionate towards everyone he meets and is a very active boy.
OTHER ANIMALS: He gets on well with other dogs and would love another dog for company in his new home. He won’t be suited to a home with a cat as he hasn’t been around them before.
GENERAL INFO: Fatty Jacques walks well on a harness. When on a lead he does tug on it and jump up so a harness is preferable. He is housetrained and will bark to get attention or if someone is at the door. He hates to be left without people company and will dig in the garden if left for too long. He likes to ‘relocate’ things to his bed or elsewhere in the garden, like shoes and towels but doesn’t chew them. He travels well in the car, knows a few commands and is a high energy boy.
ESSENTIALS for Fatty Jacques:
** An active, loving home with someone who can be with him for most of the day or can take him with them when they go out.
** He’s an active boy so will need good daily exercise, playtime and mental activity. An active home that is willing to involve him in daily activities is essential for him.
** Fatty Jacques needs a fenced, secure yard with grass and interesting things to sniff and explore.
**Fatty Jacques needs to be allowed inside the home when you are there and to sleep inside at night.
Fatty Jacques could live with dog-savvy, gentle children over 8years of age. He would love another dog with a similar energy level to live and play with or at least have interaction with other dogs on a regular basis.
If Fatty Jacques sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please send an enquiry and we’ll be in touch soon.
