About Roo
This extremely special lady is Roo - affectionately known as Tilly Roo by her carers. She came to us from a rural NSW facility and her foster carer has described her as just the most beautiful and smoochy little lady who has filled their house with so much extra love and laughter. Roo has settled into the luxuries of foster care and enjoys nothing more than a snuggle with her people on the couch (she thinks she’s a lap dog!) or a good ‘ol belly rub. Her carers haven’t found anything Roo doesn’t like, so she is just a burst of positive energy to have around.
This girl is Miss social. She absolutely loves everyone she meets and enjoys meeting new people out and about, always with a big smile on her face. She is currently living in a family with a dog savvy toddler who she absolutely adores. She is brilliant with children of all ages and would make a perfect family dog! Roo loves toys and is always up for a game with her people, or give her a chew toy and she will be content while you work. She has such a funny, loveable personality and we think she will love swimming as she tries to sneak into the shower with her carers sometimes!
Roo is also very dog social. She is in foster care with a large breed male dog and they get on like a house on fire. They enjoy playing and snuggling together especially on these cooler evenings. Roo also enjoys coffee shop stops with her social group of doggy friends and her carer has even arranged for her to go out a few times with their dog walker which she has loved. While Roo has great social skills, she does occasionally get a little excited at the sight of a new dog while on leash and can let out a couple of excited barks to say hello, but with her handler’s guidance that this is not how we greet other dogs, she stops and remembers her doggy manners. Roo would LOVE to share her new home with a playful and well trained adult dog so we will be prioritising homes with another dog, but she would be fine as an only dog too, given someone was around most of the time as she is still a young puppy like dog so needs guidance and supervision during the days.
At home Roo is a pleasure to have around the home. She is not a barker, is crate trained and enjoys the finer things in life like couch cuddles in the evening. She loves being in on the family action, but is also happy to take herself to another room for a lounge lie or outside for a sun bake. Roo’s foster carer works from home, so while she isn’t left home alone with their dog for extended periods of time, she is fine when the family heads out and is happy to rest in her crate. Roo is doing well with her training and has learnt some basic commands. She walks well on leash, travels well in the car (sometimes needs to be reassured to get in the car, but when she’s in she’s perfect!) and is almost nailing her toilet training. She is still a big puppy though and needs an owner who will continue her education so she continues to grow into a lovely canine citizen. Roo is a medium sized girl, currently 20kg and almost fully grown.
We think Roo is just such a special dog and deserves nothing but the best in a forever home. She has moderate energy levels and will need a decent daily outing and some mental stimulation to ensure she is satisfied. She is the type of dog who will be someone’s best friend and make every adventure a lot of fun. We are looking for a home where she will be taken out on lots of fun outings to beaches, on bush walks and many other dog friendly places. Roo must be allowed inside as part of the family, and as a special request allowed on the couch with her people as this is one of her favourite past times, snuggling up on the couch and snoozing the evening away. She will need to be provided a warm and comfy bed to sleep inside on of a night.
If you are looking for a loyal, smoochy and social girl and can provide her with an amazing home full of fun and adventure, then Roo might be your lady. Please fill in a Dog Adoption Enquiry from the Fetching Dogs website as the next step in the process. Please include plenty of detail about your relevant experience and what sort of home you can offer Roo.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
