About Lemon
Lemon is as sweet as lemonade and is looking to find her perfect forever home. This gorgeous girl came to us from a rural pound with her mum and an older sister and with her carer’s love and time she has become the most affectionate and beautiful girl.
Due to lemon coming from rural nsw, arriving in Sydney was a big shock to the system. She has built up some much needed confidence and now enjoys all the finer things a pet home has to offer and is quite confident and funny! Lemon is a breeze to have at home and absolutely loves her daily walks. Being young and having had limited exposure as a tiny pup, she will need owners who can continue to expose her to the big wide world slowly and if she feels overwhelmed work with her to build her confidence. She is generally a typical, playful puppy but loud noises or very busy areas can sometimes get the better of her. At home she is Miss Confident and LOVES playing with her humans or seeing if the resident cat is up for a play. She has settled into the day to day routine and has a lot of personality for such a small dog. She loves to play with toys and is very affectionate with her carers.
Lemon has begun her socialisation with other dogs and has interacted well with a number of dogs of varying ages and sizes. She can be a little hesitant at first with new dogs (no surprise!) but never aggressive. If she is feeling a bit overwhelmed on leash she can let out a small bark occasionally, but she is VERY smart and engaged with her handlers and refocuses easily. She is currently an only dog in foster care and doing brilliantly, but she would also love sharing her home with other dogs too! Due to being a puppy, her new owners will need to continue her socialisation, preferably in the form of play dates or social walks with other known friendly dogs.
Lemon is a very smart and inquisitive girl. Her carers have been hard at work teaching her basic training which is coming along well. She is mostly toilet trained (occasional accident) and being a puppy, her new owners will need to ensure she is managed properly in her new home until she fully understands where she is meant to toilet. She travels well in the car and sleeps through the night. Lemon is a bit like a shadow and loves to be with her people, however, she is fine home alone for a few hours here and there. She may cry a little initially but settles down very quickly. Being a young puppy she will need someone home most of the time, especially during the settling in period. Being a low shedding type, lemon has a higher maintenance coat which requires daily brushing and regular grooming. She will need an owner who can continue to meet these grooming requirements, understanding both the time and financial obligations.
Although Lemon is small, cute and loves to cuddle up on your lap or get some belly rubs, she is still a young and intelligent puppy, so will need owners who can keep up with her physical and mental needs. She is not suitable for someone looking for a lap dog for an elderly person. She has met a few kids while in care and interacted well with them. She can be rehomed to a home with kids, as long as the kids are dog experienced and understand how to appropriately interact with a small breed puppy. She will need to go on walks every day, and be provided with a high quality diet. Lemon will sleep most of the day once she has had her exercise needs met and she is not a barker. She will also need to be allowed inside as part of the family and provided a bed inside to sleep on at nighttime. Being so small, her yard or courtyard will need to have good fencing as she could fit through small gaps.
Lemon is just the most amazing little puppy who has been brought up in a loving and experienced foster home so she is well on the way to being an amazing doggy citizen. If you are missing a little curly fluff ball on your couch, then fill out the application form on our website and please include plenty of extra detail about your home and the type of lifestyle you can provide her to stand out from other applicants. Please note due to the expected number of applicants we will only be shortlisting a few best sounding applications for a phone interview.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
