About Ellie
Meet Ellie the Chug (Chihuahua x Pug cross). She is heaps of character wrapped in a silky, soft 8-kilo package. If her white toe tips, black curly tail, big brown eyes, or tongue-out grin don't convince you she's the cutest Chug in Queensland (and maybe all of Australia), her adorable underbite surely will.
Ellie is the perfect blend of adventure seeker and couch potato. While she loves snuggling up indoors with her favorite human, she's recently discovered the joy of walks on a lead. Each stroll is an adventure for her, as she happily sniffs her way through the world, eager to explore.
She is a quick learner and will sit like a good girl by the door to be taken out or to wait to be fed. She is also comfortable in the car and keen to venture out and see new places.
She isn't always the best at first impressions, as she can be a bit standoffish or defensive when meeting strangers, but she is the type of dog who strongly and quickly bonds to 'her person' and loves nothing more than being their loyal shadow. She would be happy to never leave your side but can also be content to laze around while you're away from home, ecstatically greeting you at the door when you return!
When she loves, she loves hard, but she can be skeptical of men and young kids. She is a 'girl's girl' through and through so her perfect owner is likely to be a woman who she can shower with cuddles. She , a couple provided the male is very patient and dedicated to taking the time needed to earn her trust and help her get over her apprehensions.
Ellie is always happy to meet a new dog or two out on a walk. She has lived successfully with a small dog. She is untested with cats, however.
She is fit for house or apartment living but is something of a 'guard chug.'
While seemingly immune to the sounds of construction, dogs barking in the distance, and road noise, she will surely alert you to anyone who walks past with her little gruff, 'chuff' and likely a proper bark, settling back down for a snooze as soon as the 'intruders' have moved along.
If you think you could give Ellie the Princess the forever throne she knows she deserves, she will surely thank you with her steadfast companionship!
Medical notes
Medical notes for Ellie the Chug
18 month old Ellie has been desexed and microchipped. She is up-to-date with vaccinations, as well as flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
Ellie has been fully checked by our vet and had a dental scale and polish. She has some minor patella luxation in both knees, but it does not bother her at all when out walking and in her daily activities so she doesn’t need surgery at this stage. Please note that they may worsen with age, and it would be a good idea to get her started on some joint support supplements.
