About Gigi
Gigi is a gorgeous female yellow Labrador x Golden Retriever who joined our Assistance Dogs Australia program five months ago. She is now 15 months old, desexed and looking for her forever home!
Gigi is a lovable and affectionate girl, who loves the company of both humans of all ages and canines. Gigi has excellent home manners, is crate trained and loves to chill near her favourites.
Although Gigi has shown some great qualities during her time in the Assistance Dogs Australia puppy education scheme, we have decided that she is not suitable to be placed as an Assistance Dog.
Gigi lacks confidence in herself and the world around her. She is fearful of the unfamiliar and her senses are easily overloaded. She will ask you to be patient while she is getting used to you and your home.
All Assistance Dogs are accustomed to spending most of their time with humans inside their homes so Gigi’s ideal person or family would have to be willing to make her a big part of their everyday lives.
Gigi would love a quiet household with predictable routines where there is no need for her to be overly social out of home. Having another dog in the home who is calm and well socialised might be helpful and would allow her to expend some playful energy every day.
Gigi is a healthy young dog. Vaccinations and parasite protection have been kept up to date. If you think Gigi could be the right dog for you or you have any further questions, please email Mel at mwatson@assistancedogs.org.au so that she can pass on an application form for you to complete.
