About Cleo
Re-Introducing Cleo!
Cleo is a Domestic Short Hair born approx 30th June 2017.
Cleo was brought in to the facility with her daughter Lilly, back in June 2023. Both Cleo & Lilly were very timid girls but we worked hard on their socialisation. Lilly & Cleo were both adopted to separate homes and we thought they had both found their perfect families. After 9 weeks in her home, were contacted by Cleo's mum who described her as a "defective cat" because she was still timid. Upon hearing this description of our beautiful girl, we told her to bring her back to us immediately.
Since being back at the facility, Cleo has been incredibly well adjusted considering what she's been through. It appears that her confidence has continued to grow while she was in the home and she's showing affection towards staff she'd previously hid from.
Cleo can still be timid when meeting new people and she does still hide when she's first introduced to new environments, but with quiet and calm greetings (aided by Dine treats) it doesn't take her long to start coming out for pats.
Although Cleo was incredibly cat social when she was with us previously, since being back with us, she has shown signs of not liking other cats. We are recommending she be the only cat at home.
Cleo is a funny little thing, who has a love for all things shoe related. She will rub up against them and even sleep on top of them (even while you're still wearing them). She is highly food & treat motivated and will do almost anything for a liquid Dine treat.
As she is still learning to trust humans, we are recommending a home with no small children as they will be too overwhelming for her & she may not come out of hiding.
Cleo will be rehomed to a family who will keep her as an inside cat only.
Cleo is litter trained and would make a wonderful addition to most families.
If you think you could be that furever family for Cleo, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Her adoption fee is $200 & this includes her desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. She is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Cleo is currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
