About Sir Charles
Calling all Dobe and big-dog lovers, is Sir Charles the one for you?
Charles truly is a man’s best friend, super affectionate and loyal and loves to be by your side.
He's a wanna-be lap dog, loving a cuddle on the couch once you become his person. He’s perfect in the home, not destructive, toilet trained and is fine at home alone whilst you’re at work.
Charles is quite a gentle soul, takes food gently and is obedient when on lead. He loves learning and has been doing great at doggie-school. He knows sit, down, come, go to bed, shake, give, off and free/yes. But, he takes his role of paw-patrol seriously and will let off a great bark to let you know if a person, or a possum, has arrived!
Charles loves playing with his toys, going for a 30-60 minute walk or run with you each day and really loves a great game of tug! Sir Charles would like you to know that he loves pats, and he does demand them by nudging you with his pointy nose. He’s also well versed in puppy-dog eyes and will use these to ensure he gets the pats he deserves for being so adorable. If, however, you don’t relent, you can expect to be presented with a favourite toy for a game of tug. If none of these techniques work on you, he will curl up next to you for a snooze – and try again later!
At 6-years old he's the perfect balance of active enough to do things with, but doesn’t have over-the-top energy. He’d be a great companion for someone living alone, a couple or a Dobe-experienced family with older teens.
He travels well in the car and would love to go out adventuring with you, but does need to stay on the leash. Charles is uncomfortable with other dogs, so he needs to be an only dog and isn’t suitable for dog parks or play dates. He’s a good boy on walks, he just needs some space and will hold a sit whilst other dogs walk past.
He loves a squeaky emotional support ball and will walk around with it in his mouth randomly squeaking it and likes to fall asleep with it in his mouth. It is super cute.
Medical notes
Sir Charles is in good health.
