About Simon
Simon is an incredibly handsome and sweet young man of just 7 months of age with a gorgeous mane befitting a lion and a glorious fluffy tail to match. He is a wonderful mix of cuddly and independent and loves giving and receiving cuddles just as much as he enjoys a quiet chill on the windowsill in the afternoon sun.
Simon loves to play and still has the perfect amount of kitten energy to work off. He is very happy to amuse himself as he flings his favourite toys about the house then crouches down low and runs a full speed to 'catch' his prey, showing everyone just how impressive and lion-like he is before finding a sunny spot by the window to recharge.
Simon's foster carers have been amazed by his emotional intelligence. He seems to innately know which person in his home is having a rough time and needs some extra affection and will seek them out to offer cuddles and company.
Simon was surrendered to a veterinary clinic after an incident involving a hedge trimmer that resulted in him losing one of his toes on his right hind leg. The wound has completely healed, is not noticeable and doesn't affect his ability to move. He was very scared of humans when he arrived at the clinic, but since then he learned that humans can be pretty wonderful and certainly isn't shy about asking for some love! He has perfected a "silent chirp" to get his human's attention. Once he chirps and makes eye contact, he will follow his humans about the house until they pick him up for a cuddle, or a pat and a smooch on his forehead.
Although Simon is confident once he's comfortable in his new environment, he is still very cautious with strangers. This means he will be reluctant to say hello at a meet and greet and will need an understanding adopter who will give him time and space to settle in. Young children can be a little unpredictable for Simon, but he ADORES older teens and adults who love to snuggle and also loves to play with other cats and dogs.
Once Simon spends some time in his new home, we know he will let his delightful personality shine and shower his new family with loads of love and affection.
All AWL NSW kittens and cats come litter-trained, desexed, microchipped, and will have received their first vaccination.
