About Tracker
My mate Tracker is one good looking boy with his fluffy foxy tail and sweet eyes.
Tracker is a 1-year-old Kelpie with the face of an angel and the love of everything Kelpie. He eagerly seeks affection, offering kisses and hugs. He plays well with the resident dog and is gentle with kids. Tracker enjoys his two daily walks, exploring sights and smells along the way.
Tracker's Favorite things are playtime and cuddles. He treats everyone in his foster family with equal affection, bringing joy and warmth to all. In the backyard, Tracker loves playing with toys, engaging in tug of war, searching for treats, and cuddling with the children. He also has a wonderful relationship with his foster dog sister and enjoys playing with her all day.
hH is typically well-behaved and able to amuse himself. He greatly enjoys human companionship, demonstrating good manners, a healthy appetite, and affection for his caregivers. Tracker is also friendly toward children and visitors, making him a wonderful companion for families.
Tracker is well-behaved and eager to please, with a submissive nature. While he may need additional leash training due to limited past walks, he is generally calm in the yard. Tracker enjoys sleeping and following his humans for affection. During a park visit on a long lead, he sat obediently by his caregiver's side while the resident dog chased a ball. Tracker demonstrates excellent obedience, waiting for commands. He is a very loyal boy who definitely will be a BFF to some lucky family
Tracker's sociable nature truly shines during playtime, where he eagerly engages with other dogs. He happily plays for extended periods, especially if his foster sister is game. Tracker demonstrates excellent play manners, knowing when to take breaks and bask in the sun for a while before resuming play. His socialisation with other dogs has been somewhat limited, mainly interacting with dogs at the pound and during vet visits. Nonetheless, he has shown great enthusiasm and adaptability in these interactions, indicating his potential for further social growth. He has met the resident cat and accepted his beat down like a champ and did not chase the cat.
Tracker currently sleeps outdoors and occasionally barks when left alone, but he settles down after sunset and sleeps soundly through the night. He likes having a light on and waits patiently for breakfast. Tracker's diet includes two meals a day, featuring dry food and enrichment treats. He responds well to jerky-style dog treats during training, although he seems to prefer verbal praise, especially hearing "Good Boy."
Traveling in the car is no issue for Tracker. While he may initially need some assistance getting in, he settles quickly and behaves exceptionally well. His recent vet visit was a dream, as his behaviour was deemed excellent by the staff.
Enrichment is an important aspect of Tracker's life. He loves spending time with people and thrives when given attention. Playing with a ball, teddy, or Kongs keeps him entertained, and he responds well to recall by whistle or by his name. Daily walks and training sessions would greatly benefit him. He's a smart boy with heaps of potential as he is still young and has that typical Kelpie smarts about him

IDEAL HOME/ Adoption Criteria
A large backyard with secure fencing, no apartment of small backyard will be considered for this working breed
Tracker's ideal home would be one where he can be surrounded by people he adores. He longs to be the best friend of a loving family who will provide him with recall training, basic commands, and plenty of joy. He would also be suited to a household with a female dog of similar size and with enough space to run and enjoy zoomies, as well as sunbathing opportunities. Tracker loves to sit on your lap for a little affectionate hug; he really needs positive reinforcement and kindness. It is recommended that the family continue with structured training. As he has been a predominantly outside dog, we suspect he’ll thrive in an environment where he has access to indoors and outdoors alongside another canine companion.
