About Hunter
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce myself - I'm Hunter, the greyhound with a heart set on winning the most important race of all: finding my forever home. I would be very happy living with kids (as long as they are big enough t play with me!) but would be best in a home without pet cats.
Picture this: the starting line is drawn, and I stand poised, ready to embark on the journey of a lifetime. With each wag of my tail, I feel the excitement building, knowing that this race isn't just about speed, it's about finding where I truly belong.
As the gates swing open, I bound forward with enthusiasm, my eyes alight with hope and anticipation. The path ahead is filled with twists and turns, but I tackle each one with determination, fueled by the promise of a warm bed and loving companionship at the finish line.
But make no mistake - this isn't a solo race. Along the way, I encounter kind-hearted souls who offer me a helping hand and a gentle pat on the back. Together, we navigate the ups and downs of the journey, forging bonds that will last a lifetime.
And then, just when I least expect it, I see it - my new home, shining like a beacon in the distance. With a final burst of energy, I sprint towards it, my heart racing with excitement as I cross the threshold into a world of love and belonging.
But the race isn't over yet - it's only just begun. With each passing day, I discover new joys and adventures, each one more rewarding than the last. And as I settle into my new life, I know one thing for sure - I may have won the race to find my home, but the real prize is the love and happiness that fills it.
To book a meet and greet with Hunter please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
