About Louis
Meet Louis, a charming 2-year-old Dachshund that's eager to become a part of a loving family. Louis is a gentle, well-mannered canine who boasts a perfectly balanced temperament, combining timidity with a loving nature. He relishes attention and affection, and he can't resist a good lap to sit on.
Louis is a work-in-progress when it comes to lead training. He will willingly walk with a little encouragement and lots of praise. He's always eager to please, and with your patience and positive reinforcement, his confidence can only go up.
Upon meeting dogs his size, Louis is a sociable gentleman. With larger dogs, he might feel a bit intimidated initially, but with gradual introductions and the right companions, his comfort level should increase. Cats can spook him a little and he would be happiest in a cat-free home.
Our endearing Louis is a little timid at first, but give him some time, and you'll soon meet the playful side of this delightful dog. In fact, nothing brings out his playful side quicker than a squeaky toy! His adoration towards these toys will provide endless entertainment for you and him alike.
So, if you are looking for an adorably affectionate friend who appreciates squeaky toys, snuggles on your knees, and the comfort of a nurturing environment, Louis might be the perfect pup for your family. As he becomes more comfortable, Louis's delightful personality will truly shine, making him an unforgettable addition to your family.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
