About Brownie
Everyone loves a Brownie and this gorgeous boy is no exception!
Brownie is a 1 year and 2 month old Tibetan Spaniel x
Brownie and many others came into care a few weeks ago from a backyard breeder and the rescue has made sure that all of us have had vet work completed and they are on a mission to find us our furever home
Brownie came into care and was extremely timid and nervous - Brownie curled into himself for the first few days and whilst showing us that he really wanted to be loved and have attention he was too nervous to allow himself to be loved.
Our foster carer has given him time to settle and adjust at his own pace, Brownie loved the option of being able to have a crate that he could go into and gain his bearings and settle.
Once he is more comfortable and settled this amazing little man will suck up the love that you give him.
Brownie has been experiencing a lot of firsts and just makes us so proud each day.
When settled Brownie will love to sit on the lounge close to you, loves pats, cuddles, he will give you kisses and snuggles right up to your side , resting his head on you.
Brownie will follow you all around the house, he'll become your shadow , definitely loves his one on one time with his human.
He knows his name, and it really does suit him, he loves a doggie treat in a Kong toy.
Brownie is currently in care with two children aged between 7 and 10 and both are very calm quiet kids who gave Brownie the time to settle and then allow him to come up to him when he wanted. Brownie would be fine with kids over 10 years of old who can understand he will take a few days to settle and needs to have his boundaries respected.
As Brownie didn’t have a lot of human socialization until he came into care , he is wary of meeting new people – so anyone who meets him MUST give him the time to adjust and come up to them on his timeframe. (Brownie loves food so hot roast chicken is defintely a help!)
Brownie is currently in care with other small breed dogs and can be a bit selective of them - he loves to play with another dog but more then happy to be an only dog and have all the love and attention. He is currently with two other young age dogs and has no issues with them (but they are often found off running around playing and leaving him alone) he is also with an older small breed dog who is also a attention hog and Brownie does struggle with her.
Brownie would love to continue to have access to a crate that he can use as his sanctuary but also have the option to sleep on his humans beds if he wants too.
Brownie loves to play fetch and will run around with a ball happily on his own playing.
Brownie is currently with cats at the home, and barely acknowledges them.
Brownie is looking for a quiet home where there is someone home more often than not – either shift work, part time, work home, not needing to work, retired etc.
Brownie weighs 4.6kgs
Brownie is still learning noises outside of the home and shows no interest in wanting to leave his home and his little safe environment. Brownie will need a home where they are happy to put the work into him and let him go at his speed.
Brownie’s ideal home would be where he can be inside as much as his little heart wants and have access outside for business and some play and sunbaking. Brownie would not cope being a dog who was expected to spend hours outside
Brownie will bond tightly to his human
Brownie is toilet trained but may have an accident or two when going to a new house – he will just need a few days to settle and shown the outside to do his business - he knows what 'toilet' means.
Brownie is not a fan of being brushed and is unsure of a brush so patience would be required.
Brownie is looking for a home where he will be allowed the time to settle and his humans will continue to help him let his confidence grow and be cherished like he should be – are you that home?

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
