About Merlot
*In foster care in Lane Cove, Sydney*
A fluffy and fabulous tortie lass, Merlot is your classic Ms Independent! She loves exploring for hours, racing around the house, and giving sweet smooches before dashing off to her next adventure.
Merlot is super smart, and sometimes a bit cheeky - disappearing into cupboards in a flash if you're not watching closely! Her favourite times of day are definitely breakfast and dinner time. She'll do anything for a treat - and for cuddles, too! If she spots you laying down she'll come right over and demand a pat :)
She's not scared of much at all - having adjusted to car sounds, people talking outside and the washing machine and dishwasher noises. (She's not a huge fan of dogs barking, but that's about it!) She adores sitting by a window and just taking the world in.
Merlot's also incredibly friendly with strangers, dogs who don't get in her face, and kids! She hasn't had any experience with other cats besides her sister, but we think she'd quite enjoy the company of a feline pal in her new home.
Like all Maggie's pets, Merlot is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: A calm environment will suit me best. I don't mind being alone while you're out at work, as long as I feel peaceful and safe and have loads of toys and enrichment, as I love to jump on stuff and scratch on my cat tree :)
I wouldn't mind living with a small dog or another small cat if they're friendly!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Low, I'd say. Which doesn't mean I don't get the urge to zoom every now and then, or challenge myself to new long-jump records!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I don't love too much excitement on a day-to-day basis, so kind, gentle children (preferably 5+) should be a good match.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I love to hang out with my sister! My foster dog brother is very gentle with me, but he's pretty big so I get scared when he wants to play. I do like to sit next to him on the couch and have a nap :)

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
