Murphy was collected by the pound from the vets as a stray, so we do not know much about her. She is very clever and is proving easy to train. She is dog friendly and enjoys playing with other dogs. She has shown no signs of aggression towards dogs or people, even at mealtimes.
Murphy LOVES food and gets extremely excited at mealtimes. Care is required to keep food away in the kitchen as Murphy will eat food off benches even if it is not meant for her! Murphy is also learning not to jump up but gets extremely excited to see her foster carers when they return to the house.
Although Murphy loves the company of other dogs, we think that she may also do well as an only dog if she has sufficient stimulation. An active family or person who loves exercise & the outdoors would be Murphy’s idea of heaven! At home, she will come and find you if she does not know where you are but isn’t anxious or clingy. She loves a pat or an ear rub but at the end of the day will also lie on the floor and rest. She has a very soft coat, and is lovely for her carers to pat.
Murphy will require firm training to be the best dog that she can be, but she is very eager to please and is very loving, obviously appreciating the care being delivered in her foster family.
Murphy would suit many situations but would need supervision around children due to her the fact that she is still a puppy and still learning not to jump up. She is a gorgeous, soulful dog and will make a wonderful companion and pet.
Murphy is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative) and given flea, tick and worm preventatives.
