Meet Carter: Your Future Cuddle Buddy! 🐾
Hi there, I’m Carter! I’m a special guy looking for my perfect forever home, and I’m ready to shower someone with all the love I have to give. I was adopted from Belle Vie Animal Rescue a few years ago, but after escaping my home due to boredom, I found myself back in care. Since then, I’ve shown my true colours as a happy, sweet, and well-behaved pup!
I currently live with other dogs and get along great with everyone, especially my lovely female foster sister. I do best with calm, mature canine friends, and having a doggy buddy in my new home is a must. While I can be reactive to sudden movements and loud noises, I’m learning to feel safe and loved again. A quiet, gentle environment is ideal for me, preferably with older children who understand my sensitive nature.
I’m a fantastic house guest—obedient and eager to please. I know all my commands: sit, shake, wait, lay down, and more! I’m not a big fan of toys, but I do enjoy helping my foster mom with chores, like taking the washing off the line. When it comes to playtime, I act like a toddler, loving a good game of tug-of-war more than chasing a ball.
I’m not one to bark often, but I’ll let you know if someone is at the door. Once I know who’s there, I return to being my quiet self. I love indoor cuddles and can sleep outside comfortably, too. While I coexist happily with birds, cats, fish, and even chickens, I need a little extra help from my human to feel safe around cats.
I love food—especially bones—and I’ll sleep with them at night! If I get bored, I might dig or chew on shoes, but give me some cuddles and a bone, and I’m all set. I would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but a small, nice female dog could work too—just no bullies, please!
I’ve had a rough start, but my confidence has grown since returning with BVAR, and I’m hopeful my forever family is out there. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves cuddles and gentle love, I’m your guy! 💖
I have a beautiful wired coat and am approximately 25kg.

Please ensure all corresponding documentation, such as vet work for existing animals & lease agreements are provided with the completed application to avoid any delays
Applications are not approved on a first in, best dressed basis, rather we will assess on your suitability. Should we believe that the animal you have applied for may not suit your home or lifestyle, we will work with you until we find your perfect match.
Upon approval of your application, we will pass your contact details onto the carer and they will liaise with you to arrange a meet & handover. Prior to the handover, an adoption contract will be emailed to you along with copies of vet work & our bank details. The signed adoption agreement & payment of the adoption fee is required prior to the animal leaving with you. We offer a two-week trial period, and the full adoption fee, minus an administration fee will be refundable if the adoption is cancelled within those two weeks.
