About Bella
Introducing Bella, a one and a half-year-old Dachshund girl with a heart full of love just waiting to be discovered. Although Bella can initially appear shy and anxious, once she warms up to you, her true personality shines through as a sweet and attentive companion.
In the beginning, Bella might show signs of timidity, but with patience and gentle kindness, she will gradually learn to trust and form a strong bond with her humans. Training will be essential for Bella to build confidence and feel secure in her new environment, and she is intelligent and eager to learn.
Bella is excellent with dogs her own size and finds a great deal of comfort in their company. Having a doggy friend in her new family would certainly make Bella incredibly happy and help her come out of her shell. However, Bella does feel a little overwhelmed by larger dogs and is quite scared of our feline friends. Her ideal environment is one that is calm and quiet, with a patient family willing to give her the time she needs to adjust and blossom.
Bella is a sweet young dog with so much to offer, she just needs the right family to allow her to flourish. If you are patient, gentle and have another dog who likes to make friends, Bella might just be your perfect family addition. Ready to give her a chance to shine? Bella is eagerly looking forward to meeting you!
Medical notes
Bella had a dental scale and clean under GA.
Vets noted a grade 1 luxating patella on her left hind leg - kneecap only slightly loose, does not stay out and returns to the correct position. No surgery required.
She also has bilateral carpal valgus - deviation of the front leys from the wrist, common in Dachshunds

Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
