About Lucy (peekaboo)
Meet Peekaboo, the enchanting grey and white Domestic Shorthair with a heart as soft as her fur. Rescued from a cozy farm life, Peekaboo brings a dash of country charm to her new home. At first glance, she might seem a tad shy, but beneath that initial hesitation lies a treasure trove of affection waiting to be discovered.
Peekaboo's favorite pastime? Cuddling! There's nothing this sweet kitty loves more than curling up in a warm lap, purring contentedly as she melts into the gentle embrace of her human companions. But Peekaboo's affection knows no bounds; she's just as eager to snuggle up with her feline friends, making her the purr-fect addition to any household.
Don't let her initial timidity fool you; Peekaboo is a playful spirit yearning to explore the world around her. Like a game of hide and seek, she's slowly revealing more of her playful personality each day, inviting her new family to join in the fun. So, if you're ready for a heartwarming adventure filled with cuddles, companionship, and a sprinkle of mystery, Peekaboo is ready to play peekaboo with you!
To book a meet and greet with Peekaboo please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
