About Manta
If curly hair, manicured eyebrows and confidence is what you’re looking for in a man, then look no further than Manta! This stunning boy is such an intelligent and adaptable dog - he now just needs a forever home who will continue to harness his potential and continue to develop him into an amazing adult dog.
Manta came into care with his siblings from a rural NSW facility as they were an accidental litter. His parents were an odd match to say the least. His dad is a longer haired, small white fluffy who looks Maltese in type. His mum is a working breed type possible with other breeds mixed in. Due to the disparity in sizes between the parents, it’s difficult for us to precisely say how big Manta will get, but he was only a small 1.2kg at 6 weeks old. We have had litters with similar mixes before and some pups ended up small and others medium, so any potential home interested will have to be happy with a dog who is between small and medium size.
Often puppies coming from these situations can be a little undersocialised, but Manta and his siblings hit the ground running. They clearly had lots of good socialisation and handling prior to coming into care. Manta has started getting out and about and is doing really well in the big wide world. He takes everything in his stride and as long as his handler engages him and makes things fun, he is always up for anything. Manta’s new owners will need to continue his worldly socialisation and ensure he gets to go on many fun adventures and opportunities to try new things.
Manta has been in foster care with one sibling and 3 dogs of varying sizes. He is playful and social with them all and has met a few other nice dogs who he interacted well with. Manta will need continued socialisation with known friendly dogs, preferably in settings like play dates or pack walks, rather than at dog parks with unknown dogs so he continues to have positive experiences. He can be rehomed as an only dog or with another well trained, adult dog. In either case, he will need someone home most of the time due to his young age.
Manta is the perfect mix of playful and independent. He enjoys a good game of tug or wrestling, but is equally happy to go and explore the garden by himself. His carer has started his basic training so he knows already how to sit and is crate trained. He sleeps through the night, travels well in the car and his toilet training is underway. Due to his young age, close management and further training in the toilet department is of course required. Manta loves his food, so he is an easy boy to train, and his love of toys means he can be rewarded with both food and toy items which is a bonus! Manta does like to pick things up on walks he shouldn’t, so the “leave it” command is being taught to him, but his new owners should be walking him with intention and engagement, not just dawdling on their phones as he will find something to eat!
Manta will require a dog experienced home and people who are committed to his development past puppy school, so he grows up to a well-rounded adult dog. He is not suited for first time dog owners or people who don’t enjoy spending a lot of time developing their dog and engaging with them. Manta will be moderately active and will need a home who will provide him with plenty of daily physical and mental stimulation to satisfy him. His carers have said he enjoys a good cuddle when the day’s happenings are over, but he has too much to do and see during the day for long couch sessions. This little boy also loves to give gentle kisses!
Manta will need to be provided a good quality diet, be allowed inside as part of the family and to sleep inside. We are looking for a house with a yard, no children and people home most of the time or that can take him to work with them. While these requirements are a bit stricter than what was applied to his siblings, this is the type of environment that suits Manta best.
Manta cannot wait to find his perfect family, so if you want to make this gorgeous boy a permanent member of your family, please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your prior dog experience and the type of lifestyle you can offer Manta. His carer only has very limited time to call potential families so will be selecting the few best sounding applications to progress to the phone interview stage.

This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
