About Oakley
Hey there!
I'm Oakley, a 7-month-old Kelpie pup bursting with excitement for the big wide world! From the moment I pop out of bed, my tail is wagging, and my paws are ready to hit the ground running... literally!
Exploring is my jam! Whether it's sniffing out new trails, investigating hidden nooks, or just chasing after those fluttering leaves, I'm always up for an adventure. Meeting new pals along the way is just the cherry on top! Whether you've got two legs or four, I'm wagging my tail in anticipation of making friends. Let's play fetch, tug-of-war, or simply roll around in the grass together - the fun never ends!
Speaking of play, don't get me started on my toys! Tug ropes, squeaky balls, you name it - I'm all about that toy life. And running? Oh boy, you better believe I'm the Usain Bolt of the dog park! But all this excitement means I need lots of exercise, so if you're into jogging, hiking, or just a good old game of tag, count me in!
Now, let's talk training. I might be young, but I'm eager to learn! Show me a trick or two, and I'll give it my best shot. With a little patience and plenty of treats, I'll be sitting, staying, and rolling over in no time.
Oh, did I mention how cute I am? I mean, come on, just look at these puppy eyes! But fair warning, my boundless energy might be a bit much for some, so I'm best suited for families who are as lively and adventurous as I am. Kids who don't mind a bouncy, excitable pup by their side will be my new best buds!
So, if you're ready to embark on a lifetime of adventures with a furry explorer by your side, look no further! Let's make memories together, one tail wag at a time. Adventure awaits - are you in?
To book a meet and greet with Oakley please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
