About Max
Max is a gorgeous, happy go lucky 1 year and 6 months old Chihuahua x Maltese looking for his forever home.
Max came into care a few months ago from a absolutely disgusting home where he, and other dogs were left to live in absolute filth, neglect and unkept home.
Max and the others went straight to our vet where they were treated for fleas, sores etc unfortunately Max had not been groomed in a long period of time and his coat was matted and very long.
The vets had no option but to shave him , there was over 500 grams of hair removed from him - while that doesn't sound like a lot of hair - it really was! Max went from looking like a scraggily unkept dog to a sleek, loving, clean and happy boy!
The rescue has taken their time making sure that Max's health was top notch as well as vaccinations and desexing.
Max is an absolutely loving boy, who loves life and people and always always up for a cuddle or some fun.
Max has learnt since coming into care the joys of snoozing on the couch or his humans bed (he loves to sleep up on the pillow and just take a break).
Max loves to have another dog who wants to play with him, hang out with him, snuggle with him and just genuinely be BFF's. Max loves to play with other dogs who love to play and bounce off each other etc.
Max loves to go for a walk but did get in trouble a couple of weeks ago when he and his foster brother (who has now been adopted) decided that they were going to be a bit naughty when walking together by being a bit rude to other dogs as they passed by..... but Max has now stopped that and back to being friendly with everyone.
Max would love a home where either there is kids as well to play with, or a home where he is walked daily as he just loves to be busy.
Max is young and ready for a lifetime of love, happiness and a family who will truly love him like he deserves.
Max has been around kids and has no problems with them - the more fun and love the better!
Max will be his humans shadow he would happily be with you 24/7 - he does not have separation anxiety - he just loves to be apart of everything. Max is always curious and will follow you wherever you go.
Max would love to have a life where someone is home more often than not, retired or works from home so he can hang out with them, Max absolutely loves keeping his humans company and at the end of the day having a good cuddle on the couch.
Max can be very timid and is a gentle boy who once confident and settled in his new home enjoys playing with her foster fur sibling and the skin kids!
Max is opened to life and having fun!
Max is untested with cats.
Max is toilet trained
Max bonds very quickly with his humans, is extremely affectionate and loving and just wants to be part of the family.
Max has now also had a professional groom whilst in care and all reports was he was awesome and very easy to groom! Max does have a coat that requires grooming so please remember that is a life time commitment
Max is sitting waiting hoping that a fun loving family falls in love with him and wants to give him his furever home - is that you?

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.

** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
