About Ted
Hi I'm Ted the Cavoodle, and I am part of GPAW's Assisted rehoming program.
My owners say I love to be with people, and will follow you around and sit in the same room (or on your lap or by your feet if I can).
I'm definitely a little indoor house doggo, and I have my own bed that I like to sleep in, and it gets moved around the house for me to know whose room I am sleeping in. I am OK being home inside by myself and can use a doggy door to head outside and take care of business as required.
I attended puppy school, and I know how to sit, stay and come to my name. For fun, I love to chew on ropes and soft toys. My family says I am very good at only chewing these things, and not things I am not meant to.
Unfortunately, I am not a fan of other doggies and like to think I am bigger than I really am. For this reason, I need to be an only dog, spending my days at home with my family and not out socialising in the neighbourhood or hitting the road in a caravan etc. I have been around children from 5 years to teenagers, and have been very friendly with them, and have never shown aggression to a human.
When taken on walks we use a halter collar to control him if we come across other dogs as he is reactive with dogs. He will lunge towards dogs and get quite worked up. We don't take him for many walks due to his anxiety. All of the different noises seem to increase his anxiety so we stick to short walks when we do walk him. He is happy to play games with his toys inside to burn some energy. Ted would suit a family/couple/individual who wants a dog for the company and is happy to keep him at home where he is comfortable. Ideally would suit someone who has the ability to invest in behavioural training, or is just happy to have a home dog.
I hope my good looks and charm will be enough to find me the perfect forever home, to be your one and only!-
