Verona is a gorgeous girl who is very loving and loyal to her people. In fact, she has loved every person that she has met since being in care. Verona mostly wants to love and be loved. She also likes to know where you are at all times - she suffers from FOMO. She loves cuddling on the couch or bed and draping herself across you like a lap dog – she does not realise that she is actually a big girl!
Verona has had training to help her with walking well on a lead and to be less hypervigilant, but this is an ongoing area to be worked on. She is very strong and reacts to birds (those magpies really push her buttons) and other dogs. Verona is looking for someone who will continue her training to help her be the best dog that she can be, and to help her understand that she can just be a dog and that her human will look out for her. She will need someone who can manage her strength on walks.

Verona is very intelligent and quickly learnt how to do some tricks such as shake hands, touch and drop. She is crate trained and often chooses to sleep in there during the day and at night and knows that “go to bed” means to hop in her crate. She is a delight regarding her toileting and has never had an accident inside. She will also give little barks to let her foster mum know that she needs to go do her business.

Verona is a protecter and very loyal to her tribe, and she needs clear boundaries as she has a dominant personality. Verona has found her voice since being in care, which means that she does bark at home at noises outside. Her foster mum has also been working with her to reduce this.

Verona is very food motivated and LOVES her treat balls and toys (she is a power chewer), playing tug of war and chasing the ball. She would love a yard where she can run around, do her zoomies and sniff and supervise the yard for you. So, if you’re looking for a big cuddle bug, who will make you laugh with her full body wiggles and other hilarious antics, Verona might be the girl for you.
