About Bull
Introducing Bull!
Bull is an English Staffy x Cattle Dog born 10th October 2020.
Bull was brought into us as an unmicrochipped stray and no owner came looking for him. Dee chased down a few leads & ended up not only finding his owner but also hearing about Bull's interesting and sad beginnings.
Bull was originally a property dog in far North QLD and his owner brought him down to Lightning Ridge near the Opal fields. While there they stayed in a BnB where several people witnessed his owner hitting & kicking him. His owner then left not only the BnB but Bull as well. The lovely people around the property began feeding him & a lovely elderly gentleman took him in to give him a loving home. Not long later, this lovely man was admitted to hospital & sadly it appears he won't be coming home. The next person to stay at the BnB took him in for two days while she reached out to several people she knew to see if anyone was able to take Bull on. During that time he was introduced to her grandchildren & he was fantastic with them. She was excited when one of the people they reached out to agreed to take him on. A week later Bull arrived at the facility. During our investigations his owner is quoted as saying "honestly let them keep him. I can't have a dog jumping the fence several times a day. I'm really pissed off atm". **For context, when his new owner would go out, Bull was locked outside and he was able to get over their 4ft fencing, given this information he will require 6ft fencing or to be left inside when his owner goes out**. Once we spoke to his latest owner it was clear he deserved a better home, so he was surrendered to us for rehoming.
Since being with us Bull has shown himself to be a gorgeous, chunky, young man who is obsessed with people. He does love his food, but he could stand to lose a couple kilos. Bull is also house trained.
Bull tested well with other dogs, but he can throw his weight around with them so he may be a little overwhelming for small dogs. We believe Bull would be suitable to live with other dogs, or he can be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Unfortunately Bull has shown signs of prey drive, so we are recommending a home with no cats or pocket pets.
Given Bull's unsettled history we're not surprised to see that he has shown signs of separation anxiety since being at the facility. He's just so full of love he wants to be with you as much as possible.
He still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Bull will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Bull's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Bull is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.
To enquire more or to meet Bull, please call 0499 900 272 or email ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com and speak to one of our friendly staff.
Bull is looking forward to meeting you and he is currently located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
