About Bentlee
Greetings, dear reader! I'm Bentlee, an 8-year-old Mastiff cross, and let me tell you, life has been a grand adventure so far! They say age brings wisdom, but I say it also brings an abundance of love to share.
Picture this: you step into my kennel, and there I am, ready to greet you with a wagging tail and a smile that can brighten even the gloomiest of days. Making people smile is my specialty, you see. It's just what I do best!
Now, when it comes to living indoors, I'm a natural. I've mastered the art of being a couch companion, and nothing would make me happier than being a part of your family, lounging around and soaking up all the love and attention.
Oh, did I mention I'm great with kids? Yup, those little humans are like my buddies! As long as they're 8 years or older, we'll get along famously. And guess what? I've got some manners too! Basic training? Check. Well-behaved? Double check.
But here's the thing, I've got a bit of a quirk-I do tend to pull on the lead. I just have a knack for wanting to explore, you know? But hey, nobody's perfect, right? And as for my canine companions, well, I'm a bit selective. I like to choose my pals carefully, so a relaxed and chilled-out doggy sibling would be ideal.
So, there you have it, folks. I may be an old man in dog years, but I've still got plenty of love to give and smiles to share. If you're looking for a sweet, well-mannered companion to join your family, look no further. I'm your guy, Bentlee, ready to bring joy and laughter into your home!
To book a meet and greet with Bentlee please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
