About Jiga
Meet Jiga, known as Jiga-bug, Jiggy, Jiggly-puff! With a snowy white coat, gorgeous land seal, little face and those cute button eyes… this boy is a heart melter.
If you’re looking for al little furry friend who's always up for fun and adventure, Jiga is your guy. He is a white English Staffy x with a heart of gold and a zest for life with a huge love of dogs and toys. Jiga is a little size Staffy x probably a bit of Bulldog who is currently 17.5 kilos so we see him only being a small med boy at full growth.
Favorite Things: Jiga's tail wags with delight at the sight of toys, especially the soft ones he can sink his teeth into. Treats are like little pieces of heaven to him, and he'll do just about anything for a tasty snack. But what truly makes his day is the chance to play with other dogs. He's a social butterfly who thrives in the company of his furry pals. He can be a tad annoying as most pups are to some older dogs, as he is always up for a play so if another dog is in residence, we are definitely seeking a companion who is up for games. Jiga has learnt that after a lengthy play he needs some downtime and rest.
Interaction with Humans: Jiga is a people-loving pooch through and through! He adores meeting new humans and will greet them with boundless enthusiasm and a wagging tail. However, he can get a little hyper arousal when extremely excited and try and turn a jumper into a game of TUG ( while you are wearing it”} so we feel he is best suited to a home without small children. This has however seen great improvement in his time with his foster family but is most responsive to the adults in the house when correction is needed,
Obedience/Training: Jiga has made great strides in his training journey! He's mastered sitting and now knows how to stay when it comes to meal times. He waits eagerly to hear “free” so he can have his food. He knows where his bed is and settles well when it’s time for bed. He is eager to explore the world around him. When being walked by a confident handler Jiga has amazing focus on his handler and will constantly check with eye contact await a check in and praise reward which makes his potential really good to be a great enjoyable walking companion.
Animal Social Skills: This friendly pup has mingled with dogs of all sizes and loves to play with everyone! He's still learning cues from others about when playtime is over but is quick to listen when told by a human. While he hasn't met cats, he's curious about birds but hasn't shown any signs of chasing them.
Jiga enjoys SavourLife puppy dry food and Prime loaf, helping him gain the healthy weight he needed. He is food-driven but now waits patiently for meals and is excited to learn when there are treats on offer. He's friendly around other dogs and shows no food aggression.
Independence: Jiga thrives on companionship, whether it's with humans or dogs. He loves toys that challenge his mind, especially when treats are involved. He's content to settle down for a snooze in his well-padded kennel after a day of exploring. Jiga is not a fan of being crated at this point.
Sleeping: Currently, Jiga sleeps outside in a cozy kennel, occasionally opting for a spot in the laundry on a comfy dog bed. Once settled, he snoozes through the night like a champ.
Exercise: Jiga is a young Staffy x who obviously at his age will need to be kept stimulated throughout the day. As we know it's not all about walking which although is good a young mind does just as well to become tired by backyard training and making them think. Jiga would definitely thrive in a home that enjoys teaching pups new skills as he is treat focused and eager to please. He spends 15min+ per day playing tug with his humans and four-legged companion and is learning how to give the toy back.
Inside the Home: Jiga is learning the ropes of house rules, he can wee on demand outside and has learnt to use the doggy door when he wants to go out. Being a young boy obviously things left lying around will become toys for him when unsupervised. Jiggy wants to just be by your side, not necessarily receiving pats but in your company.
Perfect Home: Jiga is seeking a home with someone who can dedicate time to his training and loves to be showered with affection. He'd thrive in a household with a knowledgeable and skilled balanced training approach so he matures into the best boy he can be. Jiga has also had full blood work completed and all results are great
