About Sassy
Do you ever think to yourself, “You know, I have always wanted my own Shadow”? I can fix that! I LOVE my special person and want to be as close to them as possible, almost all of the time.
My name is Sassy and I am a Cavoodle who is 4 year and 1 months old and I am currently 10.1kgs
I came into care with a couple of others as a a retired breeder and the rescue has ensured that all my vet work is completed so no more babies for me.
My foster mum says when I first came into care I was a bit nervous of new people and things but then as I settled and got comfy my confidence grew and yep you bet it now my name really suits me .
My foster mum says I can be a sassy little girl when I want - she says that as I have become a furbaby in a family home my confidence has grown and I am happy to say when I don't like something or love something!
So obviously I am a white small fluffy and I read the book on what a small fluffy should be like - I think I tick the boxes
My foster mum and dad do go to work so I have another dog to keep me company when they are not home, but hey if I had someone who worked from home, studied, retired, shift work etc I wouldn't complain if your home a bit more.
I would like a fur sibling to hang with. I have not been abused I had just not many people at my old home so meeting new people can be overwhelming.
I’m sweet and snuggly, funny and lively. I’m also terrific company, happy to lie quietly at your feet while you work or in your lap while we Netflix and chill.
I’m friendly with other dogs and love to have a small play thru the day, I also love stuffy toys - my foster mum has been known to have to repair a few
I do enjoy playing with the other small breed dog here, zoomies and playing with toys with my foster fur sibling. Big breed dogs do make me nervous
I’m toilet trained and can happily go outside to the toilet except when it's raining but come on heaps of dogs are like that - I know - we talk!
I have been around kids but I would probably do better in a home with kids over 5 – if kids are too full on that can make me nervous.
I am untested with cats but my foster mum says I have a lovely nature so shouldn't be a issue at all.
I have been learning to walk on a lead since coming into care and while getting the hang of it I will see need my family to keep working on that with me.
I do have a coat that requires brushing daily and grooming every 6 – 8 weeks, so please keep this in mind when applying as it’s an ongoing expense.
I am hoping that my dream family is reading this and know that while it might be a bit bumpy for the first week or so with me being nervous that they know I am so worth it!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
