About Mel
Once upon a time, in the tranquil embrace of a sprawling countryside, there lived a charming cat named Mel. With sleek, silvery fur that shimmered in the sunlight, Mel was a vision of feline elegance. Born amidst the rustic beauty of a farm, she spent her early days chasing butterflies through fields of swaying wheat and napping beneath the shade of old oak trees.
From the very beginning, Mel had a heart brimming with affection. She adored the company of her fellow feline companions, forming tight-knit bonds as they explored the nooks and crannies of their rural paradise together. Yet, there was a whisper of curiosity in Mel's soul-a longing for something beyond the familiar sights and sounds of the countryside.
As Mel matured into a graceful one-year-old, her desire to experience the vibrant pulse of city life grew stronger. She yearned for the bustling streets, the gentle hum of human activity, and the warmth of cozy indoor spaces. But above all, Mel craved companionship-someone to share her love, her cuddles, and her penchant for cozying up on a welcoming lap.
Despite her rural upbringing, Mel possessed a natural affinity for people. She reveled in the gentle strokes and soft whispers of affection showered upon her by those who crossed her path. And oh, how she delighted in the laughter and joy of children, their boundless energy mirroring her own playful spirit.
With her heart set on a new adventure, Mel embarked on a journey to find her forever home in the heart of the city. There, amidst the bustling streets and towering skyscrapers, she hoped to find a family who would welcome her with open arms-a family who would cherish her for the loving, sociable soul that she was.
So, if you seek a beautiful, loving companion who thrives in the company of others, look no further than Mel. With her gentle demeanor and boundless affection, she is ready to embark on a new chapter of her life-one filled with cuddles, laughter, and the promise of endless love.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
