About Maggie
Hi, My name is Maggie and yes I am truly this cute and little, but then I am a 9 week old Dachshund x Pomchi
I currently weigh 2.0 kgs
Both my parents have come into care (Mum is a long haired Daschund and Dad is a Pomchi)
My brother, Homer and I came into care with the rescue - we were three weeks old, but our foster mum made sure that Homer, me, mum and dad were all taken care of!
Mum is getting desexed - they say something about the rescue having a last litter program so she never has to have babies again!
Mum and dad have been great as well, she thought us to be really loving and dad taught us how to have fun!
So my brother and I have similar quirks and personalities. I can be a little shy when meeting new people or in new situations but if you give me a few minutes to get my bearings and get comfortable – look out world – when I’m ready for an adventure I am the most fun to be around.
I love to have a cuddle with my human and would very happily spend hours being cuddled.
My brother and I play some times gently, sometimes rough and either my mum or my foster mum has to step in and remind us we are babies and to stop trying to audition for WWE.
We have been completely weened off our mum and have great appetites' and will give any food a try
The rescue has a rule of no siblings going together (littermate syndrome) and I would be happy as an only fur child or with another dog to play with.
I have been learning to sit when I have my dinner and my foster mum says I’m getting there slowly... but you know I have a sibling and something could be yummier in her bowl. My foster mum says that I'm a great clock watcher - I know exactly when dinner time is!
I currently live with all size dogs and ages (and temperaments) my foster mum says that I am definitely dog socialized and any kids that come to visit I’m good with as well.
Currently my foster mum works some days from home and other days in the office. When she's home I spend my time in and out of her office playing and snoozing and oh yeah that's the same I do when she's not home - don't tell her! I like to welcome her home with a bit of a wiggle of the tail and a cute puppy look!
We are 90% toilet trained but will keep working on that. At the moment we have the glass door opened so we can come and go but I'm pretty sure that I can learn how to use a doggy door super quick.
I am not cat tested but I’m also really young so this is something that should be easily taught to me (don’t chase)
I love to have a play outside in the grass (wet as well) and then come in and have a good cuddle
My foster mum does these baths on me she reckons that we all get so dirty so quickly – but we just give her smooches and tell her cause we are having fun!

Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
