About Peanut (On Trial)
Peanut is on trial in a new home. Many more dogs on www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au
little peanut is a fox terrier x jack russell who has not had the best start in life, but she is now blossoming. As soon as i picked her up from the pound and put her in my car she looked like she had a big smile on her face and wouldn't stop wagging her little tail! she was in poor condition and hadn't been coping very well in the pound environment. . . . Peanut had suffered from years of neglect and had a bad flea problem which left her back very sore and dry. Now, after some tlc, peanut has really come around. After having a few much needed baths and flea treatments she is now well and truly on the mend. Her back has cleared up tremendously and is getting better each day. . . . Since being brought home from the pound peanut's appetite has continued to grow (it must take a lot of sustenance to lay around during the day and gets lots of cuddles and affection!) and she is now starting to gain weight and is looking much healthier. During the past few weeks we have also seen peanut's personality start to slowly emerge. She loves to follow you around wherever you go and is always by your side whether your inside watching t. V or outside in the sunshine. She is slowly learning to ask for affection and has started to put her head on you knee if she's feeling brave and looking for a pat. Peanut may have previously had a male owner as she follows my dad around the house and sticks to his side like glue. She also always goes straight to him for a pat and he always gladly obliges. . . . Peanut would be a great friend for anyone but she needs to go to a home without young children, because very young ones might be too rough with her. Peanut responds well to her name and comes back called. She can "sit" and has started to play with toys, particularly soft toys which squeek, and will bring them back to you when you throw them for her (although she is still learning how to "drop" them!). She learns new tricks easily if her favourite liver treats or dog chocolate drops are on offer! peanut also likes the company of other dogs and would have no trouble going to a home with another friendly dog. . . . Peanut will need to be adopted by someone who will continue to help her become more confident and who will make her a part of the family. She likes to be inside at night time with you (she is very well trained and will come inside to sit on her mat where she will stay until she goes out for the night in her kennel) but she is happy to be outside on her own while you are away. . . . Peanut really is a wonderful, loving dog who deserves a safe and loving forever home. Peanut is in foster care in muswellbrook (past singleton, in the upper hunter), but her foster carers are able to bring her to newcastle any time during weekends if you would like to meet her. You can contact them (russel, cheryle or amie) on 02-6543-4105 or 0409-994-084. . . *** ==> please see more photos of peanut, and some of our other pets, at http://tinyurl.
