About Borris
Borris (affectionately known as Borrey) is an Australian Silky Terrier aged 6 years
He is a beautiful little munchkin who has been very loved by his family 💙
He weighs 7 to 9 kg
Borris is a high energy  and loving dog. He’s very cuddly and loves kisses and a good tummy rub, as well as lounging on the couch. He is very friendly and will come up to greet you with a little jump and sniff, he will sometimes do an excited pee when meeting new friends but he is not aggressive towards new people at all.
Growing up with 3 boys, he’s used to young children who can keep up with him and run around with him.
He loves being outside and playing ball, loves to walk and explore the neighbourhood.
He can be shy around other dogs at first, however he quickly settles in and will have a good play with other canine friends.
He goes to the groomers once a month for a cut and freshening up, and he is a very good boy at his appointments (giving lots of kisses). Borris does have a tendency to bark when other dogs in the neighbourhood bark, or if he sees a bird, bat or possum when outside however when called back inside he will settle down.
Borris attended puppy training and will do simple commands such as sit, stay and coming when called but he does not know any fancy tricks.
We would love for Borris to go to a loving home with someone that can give him lots of cuddles, love and attention, as well as keep up with his activeness by regular walks and playing outside.
Borris must have secure fences and is not tested with cats.
Medical notes
Due to previously having surgery for kidney stones, he is on a predominantly dry food diet with only a little bit of wet food allowed as per Vet’s recommendations.
His biscuit brand is either Hills or Royal Canin dry biscuits for dogs under 10kg.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
