NO CATS FOR KOZY
Kozy is a beautiful girl with a bubbly personality looking to learn, grow and create bonds with a new family. Kozy is house-trained and is always excited to see new things and meet new people. Kozy is extremely friendly, although sometimes her excitement can be a bit much, and she is a great people dog always looking to be around you. However, if you are looking for a layback dog Kozy is not for you. She was returned to us from her last home as she was too active for a quiet house and rottie.
Kozy also developed a strong bond in the past with her foster dog sibling and they loved to spend time together. Both big dogs, they played quite rough with each other, lots of mouthing, tug of war and so on, but with maturity and less energy Kozy should learn to play more calmly. Kozy will also benefit from some extra social training as she tends to be a little spatially challenged. She does chase the ball and bring it back but we do not encourage too much of this activity, as it is definitely not good for her legs.
Kozy is an incredibly smart dog, she knows the commands sit and drop (down) and is extremely fast at learning new skills, as long as it’s accompanied by some treats. She can communicate without barking, such as using her head to get your arm around her when she is looking for a cuddle, or when you’re needing one.
She is a little too smart and, although she will adore you, she would love someone to give her a job to do of whatever sort (you may know it’s not a real job but she won’t) as she loves to feel useful. Ideally you are a home that has had previous rottweiler or herding dog experience who understand this need.
If you are working from home and want a quiet dog who will hang around you and sleep the day away she is also not for you. She is the typical boisterous teenager and with an active friend will leave you more in peace – and yes she will be happy to just hang around you sometimes and sleep while you work, but hey life is for living, thinks Kozy.
Perhaps you are a family who want to do obedience/dog activity/tricks, rather than just hikes and walks. If Kozy has activities and interactions that will work her brain she will be satisfied and it will use up her energy. Be warned if she is bored she can also be a bench surfer and get into things she shouldn’t.
She will be a good watch dog and will alert you to things on the property line as is her breed instinct, but good training and household management will manage this easily.
Kozy is such a great dog. Is she the one for you?

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
