About Maggie
Maggie is the most affectionate girl - you will never be short of hugs and kisses from her! She was rescued from the streets in Fiji , but surprisingly is very well adjusted, even toilet trained.
She is a little shy of new dogs and people but will happily sniff and introduce herself calmly. She is such a chiller, often curling into a ball for naps on the couch with her tongue out. She’s also an active girl and loves her zoomies - she’s the best of both worlds!
Maggie is a some kind of terrier mix, we can't say exactly just that she is a Fijian street dog special, despite growing up on the streets, she is a loving, cuddly soul who longs for a human connection. She is resilient and a ver easy dog to live with.
MY IDEAL HOME: Her ideal home would have some sort of yard / garden patch where she can go to the toilet (we've noticed she doesn't go to the toilet on walks) and an owner who can give her a good amount of attention - although she is fine being left at home.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: She needs one long (min 30 min) walk each day, but would happily go on many walks and runs - she loves being active with her humans! She is also a great pub-friendly dog in quiet environments, she will happily lie next to your table and enjoy the scenery. She adores the beach and isn't afraid to dip her toes in the water.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Untested with children, but is fine walking past kids on the street, albeit slightly nervous of scooters and prams! Maggie is likely best matched with kids 12 and up.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: She doesn't mind sharing her home with other dogs, but since she's still quite playful she'd love a dog to match her energy. She’s been getting along well with her foster sister, a 10-year old pug. She is untested with cats and is probably best in a home without them.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
