About Maggie Meatball π
ππΎ πSE QLD - INTRODUCING MAGGIE MEATBALL THE SMOOCHIE POOCH ππΎπ
Meatball is an adorable 4-year-old French Bulldog, who will melt your heart with her cuddles, kisses and expressive, human-like-eyes π
She was surrendered into our care through no fault of her own. Little is known about her past, though we believe she has spent much of her short life in a pen, forced to have litter after litter for a backyard breeder.
Despite her hard start to life, Meatball is a very loving and affectionate girl, a velcro dog who enjoys constant pats and cuddles.
Asked about her favourite things? She said:
- Cuddles and a calm environment + reassurance to know I am safe to learn how to be a doggy π₯ΊπΎππΆ
- Feeling soft grass under paw, the wind on my face, living large as a lap dog, people-watching from a park bench and being allowed to sniff β¨all the thingsβ¨
- Tucking into some cooked chicken breast morning, noon and night!
Despite her gentle nature, Meatball is still wary of the world and is slowly learning how to trust people. She would suit a couple or a special person who has a lot of time, patience and compassion - think of her as a teenager trapped in the mind-set of a chilled-out puppy. She is not yet socialised with other dogs, cats or children so would suit a 'parent/s and only dog' household.
Many 'firsts' are still being encountered for this darling girl, including:
- Toilet training, though she is proving to be a fast learner with puppy pads
- Learning how to play
- Basic training and lead-walking, though each walk she is gaining more confidence and ability.
Second only to her love of cuddles is her love of food! This girl feasts on cooked chicken breast, canned chicken and sardines and the occasional tuna can, but does like taking in some kibble to keep her chompers in check.
Don't let her chonky 12.5kg frame fool you, this ball of muscle is sprightly and can manage the stairs and jumping up on the couch (to reach her favourite place, your lap) with ease! Pet stairs or a ramp would be best for her as she joins you in your bed at night.
Meatball was de-sexed in late March, also undergoing a full dental, with all vaccinations and flea and tick treatment up-to-date.
With what Meatball has been through, she is very much in need of a special place to feel safe and realise all of her missed puppy/doggy milestones.
Meatball's super quirks include:
- Putting her head under your hand to reinstate any pats you've stopped
- Sitting on your arm to trap you prior to plonking herself against you
- Flashing you her sometimes moody and very deep peepers o_O for more food or pats
If you think you have the time, patience and experience to give our gorgeous Maggie Meatball a wonderful new home, don't wait, apply for her today.
