About Oscar
Introducing Oscar, the lovable 8-year-old tabby and white boy on a quest to find his forever home. Oscar is a delightful feline with a heart of gold and a personality that shines bright.
Oscar is not just cat-friendly; he also adores the company of another cat around his age, making him the perfect buddy for your existing furry friend. This charming cat has a fondness for relaxation and finds pure bliss in soaking up the sun's warmth streaming through a sunny window.
When he's not enjoying his sunlit naps, Oscar loves nothing more than snuggling up with his human companions for some quality cuddle time. He thrives in a tranquil and affectionate environment, making him an ideal match for a household with older kids who can appreciate his gentle nature.
What makes Oscar truly special is his affinity for senior cats. While many may overlook older felines in favor of kittens, adopting a senior cat like Oscar comes with its own unique rewards. Senior cats often have well-established personalities, making it easier to gauge compatibility with your family and lifestyle. Additionally, adopting a senior cat provides them with a loving home for their golden years, offering a sense of fulfillment and companionship to both the cat and the adopter.
If you're ready to welcome a sweet and affectionate companion into your life, look no further than Oscar. With his loving disposition and penchant for cuddles, he's sure to bring warmth and joy to your home for years to come.
To book a meet and greet with Oscar please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
