About Billie
Foster carer with potential to adopt
Billie is a 4 year old pure bred JRT with epilepsy and the cheekiest little face you've ever seen (and personality to boot!). Her medical condition does NOT slow her down! She loves a pat, a walk, throwing around her toys and cuddling. She is a goofball with a gorgeous personality. She could be your best friend!
Billie was bred as a farm dog, but taken to be euthanized when she started having fits as a tiny pup. Thankfully the vet got in contact with Forever Friends and we took her into care.
Billie has been treated by a vet neurologist. She is a perfectly happy girl, just needs epilepsy meds to keep her seizures under control. Her ideal family will have a routine that means she gets her meds at the same time each day (4 times daily – 7am, 3pm, 7pm, 11pm).
Billie loves everyone and is cat, dog and child friendly. She has a medium drive, loves tug games and would do well with another dog who will be tolerant of her playfulness. She is always hungry, and loves a frozen kong or a bone to keep her occupied. She will do well with a family who will continue her obedience training. She has been on family outings and needs to be with her people as can get quite distressed alone, so better if someone is home more often than not. She requires a family that have time to invest in consistent training as she can get very cheeky and nervous with out clear guidance.
Billie is a sweet girl who needs a family who are confident they can manage her special medical requirements and proximity to Hawthorn to access Billie’s vet team, or ability to take Billie to appointments in this area. If you think you could be a good match please get in touch 🙂
