Medical notes
Elvina often suffers from regurgitation straight after eating. X-Rays show an enlargement in a section of Elivina's esophagus, suggestive of 'megaesophagus'. This widened space means when feeding in a normal manner (floor level bowl), food gets trapped and results in regurgitation.
Elvina's condition is currently being well managed by simply holding her upright for a few minutes after each meal to allow all food to move down into her stomach. Elvina enjoys this extra cuddle time and tolerates it very well. No further treatment is required at this time if she is being fed in this manner, but this may change in the future if she deteriorates.
