About Luca
Luca came from an environment where there were lots of other dogs and not a lot of individual attention, so he's very dog social and a little wary of people.
He cannot live as a single dog and MUST have another social dog in the home!
He likes to follow and be in the know and given people who ignore him he will sniff and gather information about them in his own time, but he is in need of a home where things can stay fairly quiet and predictable for some time.
He is not suited to outings and busy activity with lots of people, but he does love other small dogs and will need a home with another social dog that doesn't mind him being right in their personal space.
He is quite frightened of big dogs so he is also looking for a home where there is enough space to get settled and bonded with his people without the pressure of needing to go for daily walks.
Luca takes behaviour medication to assist with his feeling about people and help him with his learning. This will need to be continued under the guidance of a veterinary behaviourist.
He will need his new family to come and meet him several times before he will be ready to move home, so we're looking for a home within 3-4hours of Grafton NSW to reduce travel stress and ensure there is no rush to the meet and greet process.
Luca is young and enjoys toys and chewing. When left to his own devises he is playful and curious and follows the lead of his doggy friends. He loves a game of chase and to be near his family, but he is wary of hands and touch so it's important that his family can resist the temptation to reach for him until he is ready and read his discomfort.
Because of his touch aversion, he is seeking a home with no young children living there or visiting frequently.
Medical notes
Takes behaviour medication under the supervision of a veterinary behaviourist. Currently being treated for minor ear infection.
