About Scuba
Little Scuba is ready to make you fall in love with him! He has the most adorable puppy dog eyes that make you want to scoop him up and just cuddle him forever. Luckily, Scuba is an affectionate little pup who loves his cuddles. He is friendly with everyone that he meets and is happy to get his beloved cuddles off whoever is willing to give them. But let’s be realistic – there is more for a puppy to do than cuddle! Scuba loves to play and explore the yard. He enjoys running around and is starting to play with toys. Scuba can be quite the live wire and will love to join his new family on lots of fun outings.
We are not entirely sure how big Scuba will end up being. At the moment, he is only a little guy who would be lucky to be 2kg. His parents are an odd couple – dad is a small longer haired maltese type and mum is a medium sized working dog mix of some description. Both are loved family dogs with nice temperaments. In litters like this, we often see puppies ending up different sizes so whoever adopts Scuba would have to be happy with whatever size he ends up – somewhere between small and medium.
While in foster care, Scuba has been living with 3 other dogs and one of his siblings, so his socialisation is off to a great start. He enjoys chasing his doggy friends around the yard or napping next to them when it isn’t playtime. Scuba is expected to be moderately active and will require daily exercise and mental stimulation each day to keep him happy and healthy throughout his life. His socialisation with other dogs will need to be regular and would ideally be in the form of playdates with other known friendly dogs, rather than random dogs at a dog park. Scuba will develop best with positive experiences and interactions so that he grows up to be a happy social boy.
Scuba is still very young and is just starting his basic training with his foster carer. He is travelling fine in the car and sleeps with his brother at night peacefully. His new family need to be ready to take on the commitment of raising a puppy with a training, socialisation and positive exposure plan. Scuba has only been out and about to a couple of safe places due to his young age and vaccination status. He can be a little overwhelmed at times so his new owners will need to ensure he always has positive new experiences and introduce him at an appropriate speed to new places, sights and sounds. Despite being a small puppy, Scuba’s new family need to get stuck into all his training so that he grows up to be a wonderful canine citizen who can enjoy going along with his family on outings and adventures.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Scuba where he will be a loved member of the family with owners committed to his training and development. He would do best in a home with another friendly and already trained adult dog who is ready to be a great role model for him. Scuba would also be suitable to live as an only dog but would need owners experienced in building confidence and independence in a puppy. Being such a young pup, we will be looking for a home where someone is home more often than not to spend plenty of time with him.
Scuba should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. He is suitable to live with dog savvy children who are understanding of how to handle small puppies and not treat them like toys or carry them around inappropriately. Scuba is young enough to be integrated with other types of pets with the appropriate guidance and is already living with a cat without an issue. This sweet little boy is ready to blossom into someone’s loving and playful companion and is bound to bring lots of love into his new home.
If you would like to make this beautiful boy a part of your family, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
