About Flipper
If the word “awww” was made into a picture we are sure it would be a photo of our gorgeous boy Flipper. This little boy turns heads absolutely everywhere he goes and I’m sure you can see why. With his gorgeous tri colouration and fluffy coat, this little lad not only has good looks, but his attentive and playful nature ensures that he can’t be forgotten.
Flipper came into care with his siblings from a rural NSW facility as they were an accidental litter. His parents were an odd match to say the least. His dad is a longer haired, small white fluffy who looks Maltese in type. His mum is a working breed type possible with other breeds mixed in. Due to the disparity in sizes between the parents, it’s difficult for us to precisely say how big Flipper will get, but he was only a small 1.1kg at 6 weeks old. We have had litters with similar mixes before and some pups ended up small and others medium, so any potential home interested will have to be happy with a dog who is between small and medium size. Usually, puppies in these situations can be a little undersocialised; however, Flipper and his siblings hit the ground running. Clearly, they had lots of good socialisation and handling prior to coming into care. Flipper has not ventured into the big wide world much due to his young age and vaccination status, but on trips to safe places his confidence has not wavered, and he is always friendly with everyone he meets. Flipper’s new owners will need to continue his socialisation with the big wide world and ensure he gets to go on many fun adventures and try new things.
Flipper has been in foster care with one sibling and 3 miniature poodles. He is playful and social with them all and has met a few other known friendly dogs who he interacted well with. He can get a little nervous if the resident dogs sing the song of their people, but he recovers quickly and thankfully doesn’t join in! Flipper will need continued socialisation with known friendly dogs, preferably in settings like play dates or pack walks rather than at dog parks with unknown dogs, so he continues to have positive experiences. He can be rehomed as an only dog or with another well trained, adult dog. In either case, he will need someone home most of the time due to his young age.
Flipper is the perfect mix of playful and independent. He enjoys a good game of tug or wrestling with his sibling, but is equally happy to go and explore the garden by himself. His carer has started his basic training, and he knows sit and is crate trained. He sleeps through the night and will wake you up with a little grumble when he needs to wee in the morning. He travels well in the car and his toilet training is underway. Due to his young age, close management and further training in the toilet department is of course required. Flipper loves his food, so he is an easy boy to train and his love of toys means he can be rewarded with both food and toy items which is a bonus!
Flipper will require a dog experienced home to get him up to speed on basic training and begin leash work. He requires a home committed to his development past the standard puppy school, so he grows up to a well-rounded adult dog. Flipper will be moderately active and will need a home who will provide him with plenty of daily physical and mental stimulation to satisfy him. His carers have said he enjoys a good cuddle when the day’s happenings are over, but he has too much to do and see for long couch snuggles during the daytime. He will do well in any home types such as house, unit or acreage and will be able to be integrated with other species of animals easily. Any children in the household must have prior experience with small puppies and understand they are not to be treated like toys.
Flipper cannot wait to find his perfect family, so if you want to make this gorgeous boy a permanent member of your family, please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your prior dog experience and the type of lifestyle you can offer Flipper.

This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
