About Addy - 3 Year Old Cavoodle (Trial)
Addy is a beautiful 3 year old female Cavoodle and weighs in at approximately 6 kg.
Although she is very shy and timid, she is a lovely, calm, gentle, beautiful natured girl, who is interested in following me around all day and being involved in all activities.
Addy had previously shared her outdoor accommodation with several other dogs and has not had the luxury of living inside, going for walks and enjoying human company. She now happily shares our home with our gentle larger female dog, who she adores, and relies on for comfort and guidance.
Addy loves her daily walks and will often pop next door to check on our neighbours poodle as our back yards have easy access .
She is good on the lead and happy to meet other dogs that approach, but more cautious when meeting people.
Addy is an indoor dog and is fully housetrained as long as she has access to outdoors, My dog-door flap is more suited to the larger breeds, which makes it difficult for her to manage, so we make sure there is always an open door for her. I am sure she would master one if it was more suited to her size.
We are a work in progress learning to sit on command, although she will sit at the kerbside when walking on lead with our dog. She travels well in the car secured on the backseat hammock.
She sleeps inside cuddling our dog or in her open crate at night and likes it to be covered in a quiet place where she goes sometimes when things get a bit hectic. She is fine left alone at home with our dog for short periods of time but not all day.
Addy is easy to groom as she has a light coat which is easy to wash, brush and dry, although her coat will still need regular clipping.
She is an absolute pleasure to have in our home, although because of her history she is heavily reliant on living with another calm dog. Her new owner must be very patient and be very aware that she will need some time to settle into her new surroundings and gain trust with her human family.
Addy has not been tested with cats and would definitely find young children too stressful.
