About Pineapple STA011551
Meet Pineapple, a girl with an undeniable strength and spirit. This special girl is slowly learning the love and care that humans can offer after having spent most of her life in less than ideal conditions. With trust slowly building over time, Pineapple is starting to understand and trust humans.
Pineapple would benefit from a home where her new family is experienced and patient. It will take Pineapple some time to adjust to a new environment, but with a gentle hand and a laid-back attitude, Pineapple will surely come around. It's important for her to be in a home without children or dogs.
If your home includes other felines, that's even better. Pineapple greatly enjoys the company of other cats and would really benefit from having a confident feline friend around to teach her the ropes and help her feel more comfortable.
From her foster home -
Pineapple may not be the most affectionate but she’s very curious and loves company. it may be difficult for others to read her behaviour as to when she’d like affection (she hasn’t yet learnt to ask for this) she’s definitely got the potential to become more affectionate. she will take anything as a toy, including a pebble and her own shadow (seemingly chasing her tail).
Pineapple is like a shadow, constantly following me and my cats around the house to see what we are up to. I'll be busy at my desk and I'll turn around and shell be asleep on a blanket on the floor (or sitting right behind me, staring at me while I'm doing a puzzle on the floor). Come to think of it she gives off "every breath you take, I’ll be watching you" vibes.
Pineapples main loves in life are Dine stick pastes, other cats and cat trees/scratchers. she loves tearing up cardboard scratchers, sleeping in cat trees and window hammocks.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
