About Poppy. No problems with hearing
Little Poppy is an absolute delight! Smoochy, playful, affectionate and social - the perfect mix of traits in a kitten.
For anyone who meets her it's love at first sight with her snow white coat and striking bi-coloured eyes. But it doesn't end there, she'll win you over in no time with her friendly, playful, affectionate and cheeky personality. She's great with kids and adults alike - she'll crawl all over you for cuddles and pats, and if you take some time to play with her you'll be her favourite friend in the world.
The most confident of her litter, her 2 brothers know who is boss. Even her Jack Russell foster brothers stand back and watch while Poppy and her siblings take over their dinner bowls if given the opportunity! (see video). Her new family will have to be vigilant in making sure there isn't dog food, or foods/poisons/dangerous or fragile objects in her reach because her curiosity is boundless.
Likewise with doors and windows to the big (and dangerous!) world outside - her forever home needs to be one without forgetful kids who might leave a door or window open, or not notice her trying to slip through their feet on the way in and out, because she will attempt it if she can and as well as the normal dangers of cats being outside, Poppy being white definitely be outside due to the risk of developing cancer.
As well as loving humans, Poppy loves snuggling and playing with her kitten siblings. She'd love to go to a home with a playful, friendly cat to buddy up with. She's been in foster care with dogs (Jack Russells) and is not phased by them at all. She's been very curious and keen to make friends with them.
She's very social and would be miserable as an only pet so needs a home with another cat to keep her company and burn off energy with. She'll also need plenty of toys to keep her amused and will be fine in a busy family with lots going on that she can be curious about and keep herself busy with.
She's a special little girl who is going to grow into a beautiful lady and bring plenty of love, joy and loyalty (and a spot of mischief!) to the lucky family who offers her the home and love she deserves 🥰

ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION
Sunny Days runs Victoria's only specialised stray cat rehab facility. On a rural property in Avalon, Vic, our rehab centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is in constant demand due to the sheer number of cats born wild and dogs no longer wanted.
Despite this demand, we have no source of ongoing funding. Unlike public pounds which enter into contracts with local councils to be the facility responsible for housing lost animals; reuniting them with owners; and sourcing new homes for those unwanted, volunteer-run pounds like ours do not have the option to partner with a government organisation and have the running of the shelter funded - we are left to fund our work through ours, and the community's donations.
You can help continue saving lives by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page, or further options at the bottom of this section. ♡ Thankyou! ♡
💕 OUR WORK WITH CATS:
We take in full cat colonies, pregnant and nursing mothers, ophan kittens, FIV positive cats, and sick or injured cats. Cats are humanely trapped after being identified as un-owned; we don't take in domesticated cats and have extensive processes to ensure cats trapped are true strays as opposed to owned. We don't give cats deadlines to be socialised by or they'll be euthanised, we provide sanctuary for them for as long as they need.
💕 OUR WORK WITH DOGS:
We take in dogs from community surrenders, owned arranged euthanasia's which vets have intervened on, and greyhounds retired from or not suitable for racing. Most of our dogs are with us for an extended period of time to ensure we know them really well before putting them up for adoption, and have been assessed by professional dog trainers if not worked with extensively. We provide full discretion with adopters about dogs' health and behaviour and unlimited, 24 hour support to integrate adopted dogs into new homes, families and lifestyles.
💕 HOW YOU CAN HELP
We receive adoption fees, however our animals are adopted out less frequently than happens at other shelters and rescue organisations as our animals are with us for extended periods of rehabilitation. We rely on donations to keep our animals fed, parasite treated, vaccinated regularly and treated for illness or injury. You can donate by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page, or via the alternate options below. Thankyou for your suppawt ♡
